Why you should consider creating your own product

How easy is it to create your own product well it is easy here the three ways to do it and why

• Create from your own knowledge
• Create from someone elses knowledge
• Create from your own skills.

Simple right lets give you a case study to go on

A number of years ago a good friend of mine was a small business owner he dabbled in marketing tried affiliate marketing and other money-making possibilities that could create an income for him.

His knowledge of a subject led him to develop a product.

This is what he did and this is very simple he just wrote a report on what you have to do and you know what he sold it. Through ppc advertising that was it. OK back then he knew nothing about the many ways to produce and promote a product only that he could write about it.

But he did know how to make it a downloadable pdf file and he knew how to accept payments online. All very simple to do with a little bit of knowledge.

Now how about if he made a video of it or created an e-book or a cd to post out and how to market do you think that he would have sold more i am.

In fact he would have been able to charge more for the Cd and the video.

That is how simple it is to create your own product now he didnt even research whether people were looking for it he just thought you know what,  i have a skill i can teach if people want to know what he knows they will probably pay a little bit for it and they did.

Now he did not make a fortune but what i am trying to say is that he did it on his own knowledge and skills.

Do you have skills or hobbies that you know a lot about or do you know someone who has knowledge that you can interview.

Once you have your own product you have it for ever, no more work maybe tweak it if it needs updating or adding to it if you want to give more value or more knowledge.

The only thing you need is a bit of knowledge on the tools you need to create it. But you don’t even need to that yourself.

OK here is an example one that i created for the tradesmen on how to manage and build their own website.

I wrote a pdf for all the resources I then created 14 videos in camtasia on how to set up a website for the tradesmen from beginning to end in fact everything they need to know to have their business on the internet i even created videos on developing content and marketing with 3 bonus videos that they can use. now if i want i can put those videos onto a dvd and post them out or transcribe the videos into an e-book.

That is it that can stay there forever i don’t need to do anything else it is done.

OK you have to market it but really the product has been created so i am done. You can then move on to another and another once you have a product created the next one is easier.

At this point i am going to say if you only sell one a month it does not matter in the beginning the main thing is you have done it and now ready to get more serious and develop more.

Warnings

Don’t get caught up in get rich quick schemes they don’t work and never will. Trust me i have been there tried it failed and lost money.

And don’t try to do the same to other gullible people wanting fast money i don’t me this in a condescending way after all i was one. It  just sounds so wonderful  to think that you just need to do this and you will be rich right we all like that idea.

You will be much more successful if you are honest, give value and help others solve problems, whether that is with your own products, affiliate products or network marketing.

Warning Number Two

You need to just pick one stay with it, make it successful or give it a reasonable time to mature and see the results. You will never be successful if you jump around doing a bit here and there. Decide how much time you can devote to one area and stick with it.

Warning Number Three

Don’t give up your day job just yet work on your business in your spare time you still need to earn money and most likely finance your new venture. Many people have an idea think it is great leave their place of work only to find it has taken longer and struggle or never makes any money or they just give up. remember any business will take time to mature and see rewards.

Ok enough about the warnings you get the picture. Here is a quick overview of the 5 ways to make money from home

1. Affiliate Marketing  — selling other people’s products

How this is probably the easiest way to start just go to places like clickbank, Commission Junction and other such affiliate  sites and sign up costs nothing search products decide what products you would like to sell and that is it. Ok there is more to it then that but that is basically it.

Do’s  get a website to promote the products preferably promote similar products so that the web site is related, this is the best way to sell your affiliate products you can set up one page websites and sell individual  products or sell a number of similar products from one website. Remember that new websites take time to get noticed, ranked, and get traffic.  Alternatively you can buy an existing web site that is for sale that you can use.  All business ventures take time so be prepared for this.

Don’t use PPC or any high paid advertising to get your affiliate products out the competition is fierce and can cost a lot of money more than you will receive, later you can choose this method. Lear more on affiliate marketing here

2.  Network Marketing——Building organisation by way of recruiting others to do the same

That is what a network marketing is. A company that uses outside help to promote that companies products. You get commission on selling the product and introducing others to sell on behalf of the company too.

Most people want to recruit and get paid by way of a compensation plan the more you recruit the more you get paid sounds easy right.

But like most businesses it takes time and effort to convince others that this cauld be for you, not everyone agrees that network marketing is a good business and can be very sceptical with this type of business.

Joining a network marketing company will cost you, some a monthly on going fee others with a one time fee and or monthly fee

Finding a good Network Marketing company can be hard you can get a good product with a grap compensation fee or vice versa

Do’s Find a business that sells good products has a good compensation package and has in-house training on how to promote.  Find a good up line or sponsor the one that recruited you, so you can keep in contact each person needs to be in touch it is all about building a team so be a team.

Don’t Just join a company on a say so research the company talk to the up line buy one of their products or try it out.

3.  Product Creation or re-brand products

Creating your own product you probably asking how do I do that. Well you find something you know about could be a hobby or your work  or even someone else that has knowledge on a subject people are searching for, then you can interview and record it load onto an audio cd and sell it. Or if your own product could also be an audio, video or e-book that you use to sell. Or you can re-brand another persons product that has given you permission to do so and sell as your own

Do’s research to make sure that there enough searches or people interested in the product before you create it or do a product launch, as to when this product will be available and see the response you get as to whether this may or may not be worth doing.

Don’t Take to long on your first product get it out quick see if it sells then refine it or move onto another product and if you have done a product launch with interested parties make sure you get it out quickly once you know it is viable.

4. Selling Adsense and advertising

Ok this one is something that i have not personally applied but i will do. How this works is you have to have a website fully optimized important for search engine optimization (SEO) because you need traffic and lots of it to make it pay. Why well Adsense are those little ads you see on websites and you tube videos when someone clicks on the ad you get paid that is why you need a lot of traffic.

Selling advertising space is growing this again works well with high volumes of traffic but not so important because the advertiser is going to pay you for some space on your website isnt that cool and every month you will be paid for that space that has been used.

But the advertiser will want to see a good amount of traffic to your website a good page rank possibly and a site that of course is relevent to the ad although i have seen ads placed on sites that are nothing to do with the ad. You can also use your site for back links and postings to get paid too. again no posts on this subject but will have soon.

Do’s get a site try to get it fully optimized and relevent to the ads google Adsense will do this automatically again you could pay out for a site that is for sale that will be ideal for this purpose. As soon as you have your site get content on it fast and keep producing relative and valuable content relative to the site name and description

Don’t do this unless you are prepared to learn SEO or employ someone to fully optimise and spend time writing content or employing others to do so.

5.     Home based franchise business

Never done it unlikely too but never the less is a viable business likely to cost you a bit like any franchise you are buying into a product or company that has already done the work and has everything in place and you are part of the company helping to make it grow profits a % of your profits will go back to the company.

Reduces the risk of starting your own home based business with a work from home franchise. Follows a proven work at home concept.

There are a  large number of choices to find the right niche and company that you can apply too.

As i said you will likely have to invest a large some of money to start the franchise so if you go down this route you will have to be dedicated and structured and put a lot of time into the business, probably not a part-time start like the others.

In fact i would say you should look at around six months to get to a position where you can start to see results in  team building.

• Encourage them and re-assure them of there value they bring to the table
• Always hold regular team meetings to ensure they are committed to the task
• Be aware of problems that they may be facing
• Always involve them in all tasks
• Always encourage collaboration within the team
• Regular training to keep the team positive and knowledgeable on the tasks required
• Try to make some time to give some individual attention on the needs of your team members.
• All teams need leaders to organise and motivate you must be able to commit and show your team that you are a leader and be recognised as such.

Whenever you have to build a team you must realise that this will take time and encouragement but as long as you continue to stay focused and motivated then this will happen. Once you have build a team then the above tips should be part of your role to keep your team motivated and committed to the business at hand.

When you first decide on a business, researched and have found a market that is a viable and you want to promote, in order to be noticed you will need a business address and name so you can be found. IE a domain name. Domain names are inexpensive and you can choose a one or two year contract or more.
Which means once you buy that domain that is your address for that period of time. and you will be notified when it is time to renew if you want.

There are number of things to consider the name must be as relevant to your business market as possible. So for instance if your market is about how to grow garden trees then you will need your domain name to have these words in the address ideally www.howtogrowgardentrees.com.

Why because people will click more on related sites that they are searching for and the search engines see this as very relative, which will give you a better chance of being shown on the top pages. Known as SEO (search engine optimization) The other thing to consider is the .com at the end there are many .uk, .net .org .com. Dot com i use more because it is more universal and is used for businesses in the main. However if your site is more based geologically then you can use say. UK relating to the United Kingdom

You will also need Hosting, Hosting is a server that allows you to advertise your business online with out hosting you will not be visible on the Internet. It is like paying rent for your shop on the high street but of course a lot lot cheaper.

There are many hosting companies that offer packages to suit your business. Most Hosting companies give you the option to pay monthly or yearly. setting up a hosting account is very easy you can see my video on how to set up a hosting account and choosing the right package. I will also walk you through how to forward your domain name if bought separately to your Hosting account.

An idea for a business is something that you are perhaps working on at this precise moment.

It is important to identify a category that you will want as a business and not try to do to many models at once as this will not only confuse but time will be an issue to really make a go at a business, once you have a business model that you want to go with.

You will need to know who is your target Audience in order to get leads to create an income. In other words who are you attracting and what can you offer them in order for them to trust and buy from you.

For an example i love Thailand and live here part of the year so if i wanted to have a business whom are targeting this could be

Just concentrating on Thailand would be to general and maybe to competitive and you would find it difficult to offer value for all areas all the time.

So what ever your business model try to narrow it so that you can offer real value for a particular area

when you are ready to begin your online business you may be thinking should i begin with a web site or a blog now of course you don’t have to decide on any of these in the beginning if you don’t wont to they can come later and if your marketing affiliate programs these are not essential.

I say this because there are many free content sites where you can give information about your services or products and use these as a base for your clients leads or customers.

However your goal is to brand you and your business so a blog or website you will definitely want to have it will be like your home where you can make alterations or changes.

The difference between the two is that a website tends to be more static once you have all your information products or services on your site the need to change will not be as frequent as a blog.

Where a blog is your way of branding you and giving continued valuable content to your target market and engage your audience. Most blogs centre on establishing a trust and friendship with your market of course you are still monetizing and offering solutions to your leads or clients but essentially it is about your target markets needs not yours.

Where a website might look a little bit like a shop or store for customers to purchase however the web site can be similar to a blog this will depend on how you want to use your website as marketing funnel or information or both. And of course the website depending on your business could just focus as a shopping cart. Many options.

But a blog will take less time and less cost in the beginning but for a blog to be successful it must engage and be updated regularly.

Depending on your time a blog could literally be up and running in one day. When you have content out on the web your blog or website will be where all other content related will be directed too.

So how to get started you can choose to install your blog yourself using a hosting company and FTP client FTP is usually used to send files from computers to hosting web servers when creating a website.

Or alternatively you can write about your venture and Wait for some feedback to build a relationship.

Searching google for forums or sites that are already in business with products or services that you would like to be involved in is another avenue you can pursue and make contact that way. So there are many ways where you can start to build relationships with.

Once you have found people you will need to be sure that they can offer the right assistance will do the work and you feel comfortable working with. Commitment is key you all need to be sure of what you are going to do how you are going to do it and keep in constant contact at least once a week. Planning, support and tasks need to be set for each individual working on the business.

The beauty with an Internet business is that they do not need to be next door or even in the same country as tools and software available today make it easy to keep in touch and talk. Over a period of time you may wish to meet up in person but if you are happy initially with corresponding through Internet software then building a relationship can be done globally.

2. Experience. Write down your experiences that i specifically related to the job you seek or how your experiences can help with this position
3. References. Most businesses require you to submit references so should include Former Employees, Teachers that you studied under if applicable, professional persons that can give you character references.
4. Photographs. Attach a professional photograph must be recent not more than 6 months.
5. Specific position. Never apply for just any position always apply for a specific position
6. Qualifications. For that particular job and give reasons why you feel that the qualifications you have is suited to the position your applying for.
7. Probation. This is not something that everyone would want to do but it might insure you get that trial to prove you are that person for the job.You may not get paid for a month but well worth it if it gets you that job for the long term
8. Knowledge of their Business. Research the company or business that you are applying too and find out as much as you can then show this in your resume. This will impress them and tell them you have real imagination and interest in the company.

Don’t worry about making you resume to long as you are showing them your interest in wanting that position.

Make very effort to make it as neat as you can when you have finished neatly bind and put into a nice looking folder.

And one really important application is sell yourself as the man or women for the job. Really strike home that you are that person they need. Be bold in your statement. Companies and or agencies like to see that you have confidence to do the job.
